Dive Into Math 1

Sixteen lessons that help children learn the basics of mathematics are categorized into the following seven sections.
- Volume and Mass: Concentrates on the concepts of More or Less using solids and liquids and Heavy/Light using a balance. Students are encouraged to make estimates and guesses before selecting answers.
- Length: Teaches students concepts of shorter and longer and estimating precise lengths in centimeters or inches.
- Pictograph: Shows students that a graph is a quick way of seeing information all at once. Students learn how to read a pictograph and how to build one.
- Add and Subtract: The operations of addition and subtraction are taught in the context of interactive games.
- Word Problems: Two levels of word problems are presented in a cartoon setting. If mistakes are made, then correct answers are explained to the student in a step-by-step format.
- Bar Graphs: Students are introduced to vertical and horizontal bar graphs. Students learn how to read and interpret these graphs and then apply given information to building their own graph.
